Your PoP link — a portable proof you're real.

What it is

A Proof of Personhood link (PoP for short) is a short URL that verifies you're a real human and matches you to your verified RealHumans profile. It looks something like realhumans.org/v/abc123.

Anyone who clicks it lands on a page that says: yes, this person is a verified RealHuman, along with how recently the link was created. They can see your name, photo, and verification number, with the assurance that nobody else can fake your link.

How it's built

Each link contains a cryptographically-signed JWT (JSON Web Token) issued by RealHumans. The token is signed with our private key; the public key is published openly so anyone can verify the signature without trusting us.

Each link works for 24 hours, and the page shows how fresh it is: Fresh for the first 10 minutes, then Recent, then Not Recent. A fresh link means the person you're talking to just created it. If someone forwards your link, its age shows, so ask for a fresh one when it matters.

How to use it

• Dating apps. Before you meet in person, send a fresh PoP link in the chat, and ask for one back.
• Marketplaces. Send the link to a buyer before you meet to hand off something you sold.
• Money transfers. Swap fresh PoP links right before you wire anything substantial.
• Hiring and interviews. Ask candidates (or clients) for a fresh PoP link at the start of an interview, so you know you're not talking to a deepfake.
• Rentals. Landlords and tenants swap fresh links before any deposit changes hands.
• Family safety. If a call or text claiming to be you asks your family for money, they can ask you for a fresh PoP link. A cloned voice can't create one.

Need a link that lasts?

PoP links are for the moment. For somewhere permanent — a dating-app bio, an email signature, a social profile — use your public profile link (realhumans.org/humans/your-name). It never expires, and your profile lists the social accounts you've added, so people can check that the link goes both ways.

Require one in return

The other side of the equation: ask for PoP links from people who contact you. Anyone who's real will have one. If someone doesn't have one, or refuses to share one, that's a useful signal.
