The Internet Has a Trust Problem. RealHumans Is Here to Fix It.

For most of the internet’s history, we have operated on an assumption:

That the person on the other side of the screen is real.

That assumption is no longer safe.

Today, anyone can create a convincing digital identity. AI systems can generate realistic photos, hold conversations, mimic personalities, and build entire personas that appear human. Bots and bad actors are no longer obvious—they are often indistinguishable from real people.

This creates a growing problem:

We don’t know who we’re dealing with anymore.

The Cost of Not Knowing

This uncertainty isn’t just inconvenient—it’s dangerous.

People are being:

  • Scammed financially
  • Manipulated emotionally
  • Impersonated online
  • Misled in marketplaces and relationships

And perhaps most importantly, something deeper is eroding:

Trust.

Without trust, the internet stops working the way it was meant to. Conversations become guarded. Relationships become questionable. Opportunities are missed because we hesitate to engage.

Why Current Solutions Fall Short

Most attempts to solve this problem rely on one of two approaches:

1. Government ID verification

Upload your driver’s license. Share sensitive personal data. Trust a centralized system.

2. Biometrics

Scan your face. Provide fingerprint data. Give up permanent, unchangeable identifiers.

Both approaches introduce new risks:

  • Privacy concerns
  • Data breaches
  • Centralized control
  • Exclusion of people without access to documentation

And they still don’t solve the core issue:

Trust isn’t just about identity—it’s about relationships.

A Different Approach: Human Verification

RealHumans is built on a simple idea:

Humans are best verified by other humans.

Instead of relying on documents or biometrics, RealHumans allows people to verify individuals they personally know and trust.

Over time, this creates a network of real, connected, accountable humans.

We call this:

Proof of Personhood (PoP)

A RealHumans profile doesn’t just say “this person uploaded an ID.” It says:

“This person is known and trusted by real people.”

How It Works

  • You create a RealHumans profile
  • People who know you verify you
  • You verify people you know
  • Trust builds through real-world relationships

Highly trusted members—called Guardians—help protect the network by reviewing suspicious activity and enforcing community standards.

No biometrics. No government ID required. No centralized authority deciding who you are.

Why This Matters Now

We are entering an era where AI will continue to improve—rapidly.

Soon, it will be even harder to distinguish between:

  • Human and machine
  • Real and fabricated
  • Authentic and synthetic

If we don’t build systems of trust now, we risk losing something fundamental:

The ability to confidently connect with one another online.

Our Mission

RealHumans exists to establish a global standard for proof of personhood.

We believe:

  • Trust should be human-centered
  • Privacy should be protected
  • Verification should be accessible to everyone

And most importantly:

Human identity should remain in human hands.

Join the Movement

This isn’t just a product. It’s a shift in how we think about identity and trust online.

If you believe the internet should remain a place for real human connection, we invite you to be part of building that future.

Because in the age of AI, one thing matters more than ever:

Knowing who you’re dealing with.
